What did The Washington Post say about BuyIreland.com?

The Washington Post featured BuyIreland.com in their Sunday Source section in March 2005, just in time for St. Patrick's Day. Journalist Nicole M. Miller wrote:

"Talk about a wacky way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day: www.BuyIreland.com lets you snap up a square-foot plot of the Emerald Isle to call your very own. For $49.99, you'll get a speck o' countryside in County Roscommon, where sheep graze on grassy fields within stone walls."

"Buyers receive a deed and certificate of ownership, plus a map, photos of the area, and directions, so you can visit your personal piece of paradise anytime you'd like."

The article also quoted our CEO John Beckett: "Depending on the traffic and the weather, it's about three hours out of Dublin," adding, "It can get muddy if it's been raining." The Post's writer concluded: "Blimey! Better bring those wellies."

The Washington Post is one of the most influential newspapers in the United States, and this early coverage in 2005 — just two years after our founding — helped introduce BuyIreland.com to millions of American readers with Irish heritage.
